Square #4

C2C Laffy Taffy Crochet Blanket Square!

Tasha (Our beautiful hostess) of Stardust Gold Crochet and I collaborated a little bit on this square. We were both thinking taffy, but what we were coming up with seemed just a little off. We started sending ideas back and forth so this pattern is a combination of both of our ideas.

If y'all have not figured it out yet Tasha and I are legit best friends. We design together, test each others patterns, (and apparently have the same fashion sense when we are modeling 😂 I just noticed that)

She even named this pattern after my daughter Temperance.

Tasha and I were video chatting while I was testing this pattern. Temperance came in and asked "what you making" I told her "I am helping Ms. Tasha with a design it is a cross between a rauna and a poncho." My daughter (3 at the time) said "It's a Rauncho" We almost corrected her but we looked at each other and said "yep it is". It was the cutest thing. So the Temperance Rauncho was born.

We Crochet provided this beautiful yarn and prizes!

The Brava Yarn colors I used for this square were Just Peachy for the background and the swirl of the candy is Cotton Candy and Rouge.

To complete this square with the official We Crochet colors

you will need

  • 1 skein of Cotton Candy for 1/2 of the swirl

  • 1 skein of Rouge for 1/2 of the swirl

  • 1 skein of Blush for the background

  • scraps of White for the wrapper

After Tasha and I worked up our squares we noticed the design was missing something, it needed a pop. That is when Tasha found the perfect solution to give this pattern just the right touch... That was adding a little bit of white to give the wrapper some definition.

You can work your square in any colors or color combination you would like.

This pattern is designed to have four colors.

If you have not picked up all the yarn you will need to complete your blanket, here is the complete yarn list.

I really enjoyed working with Brava Yarn. It did not have the stiff and scratchy feel that most affordable worsted weight yarns seem to have.

It is very soft and I would recommend it for any of your upcoming projects

I have suffered with dry and sensitive skin for years.

Lotion and yarn don't normally mix well, so I would neglect my hands for the sake of my project.

On top of the fact I never could get use to the stinging every time I would put on facial creams and serums

I knew there had to be a better way. Something that was all natural, would absorb quickly, and would not break me out or set my face on fire.

In December 2021 I was introduced to a facial method and body lotion that is out of this world amazing. I just have to share about it....It has me looking younger, my skin looks bright and healthy, and feeling softer everyday. Even my husband commented on how soft my legs were the other day.
